The Government will stick to the date of Spring Budget 2020, quashing speculation it may be delayed.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak took to Twitter to confirm Spring Budget 2020 will be held after Prime Minister's Questions on 11 March.
Sunak tweeted: "Cracking on with preparations for my first Budget on 11 March. It will deliver on the promises we made to the British people."
The announcement follows comments made by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps on last weekend's Andrew Marr Show.
Shapps said plans for Spring Budget 2020 were "well advanced" but that Sunak "may want time" after "only being in place for a few days".
That means Sunak will deliver his first Budget just 27 days after succeeding Javid as Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Javid resigned as chancellor on 13 February 2020 after refusing to clear out his team of aides ahead of a cabinet reshuffle.
In doing so, Javid became the first chancellor not to deliver a Budget speech since 1970.
